Glacier Skywalk
Glacier Skywalk is a unique and spectacular observation walkway that has become a major Alberta tourist attraction with its unobstructed views of Jasper National Park’s jagged peaks and glacier-carved valleys. The glass-floored observation platform at the end of the walkway suspends visitors about 305 meters above the valley bottom for an experience that’s just plain thrilling—and a little chilling too. Beauce Atlas had the job of supplying the 6 giant box girders, each one weighing between 50 and 65 tons, to support the walkway. Total weight came to no less than 385 tons. The team showed what it could do, overcoming the challenge of producing and handling the outsized girders, and delivered and installed them at the remote, inaccessible site deep in the mountains
