Congress Square

The Congress Square megaproject involved transforming 5 historic 10-storey buildings into a single, interconnected 19-storey building with a total area of 460,000 square feet. The stunning new building comes in at 2,150 tons and retains the charm of the historic buildings, which were used as banks in the early 20th century. Beauce Atlas took on the task of restoring, preserving, and reinforcing the historic facades with a new steel structure that would preserve the city’s rich heritage and still meet current construction standards. To complete the build, Beauce Atlas had to manufacture and install a superstructure on the 10th floor to support the weight of the nine new floors above.
