Sales representative

Under the supervision of the Sales Director, the sales representative works to identify and develop new business opportunities for the company. The candidate ensures the company is known in the potential market and works to create and develop new business relationships.  The sales representative enforces the existing relationships with our customers, business partners and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the sales director, define the targeted market, the territory to be developed and the objectives to achieve. Current territory includes ME, MA, NH, VT, RI, CT, NY, NJ & PA.
  • Stay up to date in the market, target interesting projects and discover new sales opportunities.
  • Share all invitations to bid with the Sale department.
  • Establish the first contact with the customer and introduce him with the sales department as soon as possible.
  • Establish relationships with clients during the preliminary phases of projects.
  • As required, obtain pre-qualification documents and ensure a follow-up until the project is out for bid.
  • Follow up on certain projects after the bid proposal or investigate a specific project.
  • Connect customers with the sales director for all technical questions or price negotiation.
  • As required, attend scope review meetings following bid proposals.
  • Ensure deposits of sealed bids when required.
  • Submit a weekly activity report to the sales director including an overview of the planning for the coming weeks.

Qualifications

  • College degree in a field related to construction or sales
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Availability to travel to New York and Philadelphia area minimum once per month
  • Rigorous, thorough and good work organization
  • Energized with good stress management abilities
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • A skilled speaker with a talent for persuasion
